God is Good!

Today I almost had an accident. Do you ever wonder how many times you are saved by a guardian angel? I have often wondered that. I know that we as children of God have protection and I have a strong feeling that there are many things I've been saved of, of which I had no idea! Then there are times that God allows me to see that I've been saved from something. This latter happened to me today.

I have this nasty habit of texting sometimes while driving. I know, I know, I know, I should NEVER do that! I love to multi-task. I would do well in the family of Cheaper by the Dozen. The book that is, not the movie! I'd be giving Mr. Gilbreth some competition as to who can get this or that done the most efficiently! Even if it means buttoning your shirt from bottom up to save a 10th of a second! Well, I have had so many close calls of nearly driving in the ditch or clipping a mailbox or crossing the middle lines, all because of texting! Each time I resolve to do better and each time as the scare wears off I am back at it again! I often wondered if God is gonna let something bad happen to me because I just don't seem to learn from all the gentle warnings He's given. Well, today it got so close to being bad!

I was on lunch break and headed to the Tanger Outlets. I was almost there when someone texted me. I picked up the phone and started replying. I barely looked down but in that tiny amount of time stuff was happening. I looked up to see that there was not way I could stop in time to not smash the pick-up in front of me. Of course I stomped on the brake but saw I would have to hit him but as quick as a wink I swung over into the left lane, which is a turnoff lane and was empty. I nonchalantly turned left into a parking lot (don't ask me what building was there as I have no idea!). I parked and sat there and shook for a few minutes. Oh, that's not all I did! I had to clean up some food! I forgot to mention that since this was my lunch break, I had a bowl of food in my lap which I'd been eating as I drove before the phone "needed" attention! I will still do that, because I don't really need to look down so it's not that dangerous. Anyway, the food ended up all on the floor, bowl was upside down. I had only eaten half of it! Waaaaaa! There went my BBQ ham sandwich, noodles, and california beans!

I had to smile at the Lord's goodness in the little details even. He could have let the food fall on my white knee socks or all over my dress. Then how would I expain that to my co-workers? How embarrassing that would be! However, He kindly saw to it that it missed that and hit my shoe and the floor! Little things like that do not go by unnoticed by me! Thank you Jesus!

So, now I wonder what angel was by my side this time! There had to be one there! I must learn my lesson before the lessons get more severe! I'm afraid next time there will actually be an accident. I must learn NOW before something happens!

If you ever drive by me and see a stupid looking grin on my face, it's probably because I have another habit that I do sometimes when I drive. This is a good habit though! I like to peer up into the clouds at a far distance and just imagine how the Rapture is going to feel! I can almost feel myself rising as I do that! Just staring at the sky and thinking that any second the Savior could draw me up there to be with Him! Oh, what a day that will be! I can't wait! I'm so glad He is saving us from the wrath to come. I know I jolly well don't deserve it but I'm grateful!

That's all folks!.............for now!

A Blessed Easter to All!

Well, here I am again, can't believe it's Easter already! Time has flown and since I went on my trip to Israel, it seems to fly by even faster! I think Easter is my favorite holiday. I wish we'd make more of a fuss about it. I mean about the real meaning! I think it's just a crying shame that people cover up the real meaning of Easter with all their eggs and bunny things. I wonder who all really knows the true meaning. Not that easter eggs and bunnies are wrong in themselves. It just makes me mad how they distract people from the true meaning of Easter. Why oh, why does Satan have to come along every good thing of God and try to distract/pervert people? He's too dimwitted to come up with his own ideas so he comes along side of God and does his best to mess God's plans up. Well, I have news for him! Here is one girl anyway who did not get distracted and is celebrating Easter for what it really is! He is risen, He is risen indeed!

We had a good Sunday school discussion today on how we know Jesus is risen. We said we know it because He lives in our hearts and we can feel Him there. But the teacher said how would you tell that to a person who has never been born again? They can't feel him. Another lady suggested because the Bible has the entire account. Yeah, but if the person you are telling does not know the Bible, how WOULD you prove to them He's alive?????? We decided faith is the only way, they would have to have faith to believe it. We also said that you know how they tried to say his body might have been stolen? If someone had stolen His body, they would NOT have left any grave clothes there, it would have taken too long to unwrap anything! And we know some grave clothes were left there.

Today was such a delicious day. I love delicious days, they should come around more often! I had a great time relaxing. I finished printing out my Israel pics. Then I did some other odds and ends including planning what I'm gonna make for dinner the next week. It's challenging, trying to pick recipes that have mostly just ingredients we already have! It's fun though to see what I can make out of little! Sharon is away for supper so I have to see what I can make for myself. It's not as fun cooking for myself alone! Probably will be something really easy. Guess there's warmups I can make, it's just that they're ones I'm not very hungry for. I'm trying to imprint this mottoe in my heart: I'm eating to live, not living to eat!

Now I've just gotten up from a nap and I need to sort through my Israel pics and put them all in a religious order! They are not very organized. Then I need to put some labels with them...........hopefully I get this all done. Anyway, I hope all my faithful readers have an AWESOME Easter! He is risen, He is risen indeed!

Back from Israel!

Oh, my poor neglected blog! How lonely it must feel to have been left alone for such a long season! Well, I guess everyone that reads this blog got my emails while I was in Israel anyway. It was better doing email because then I could send the info to folks who do not have internet and to those who I do not wish to give my blog to. You see, only a very few people can read my blog. In fact, probably less than 5 people read my blog. I have to be very choosy as to whom I let read my journal, because it is personal and there are not many people whom I trust that much or whom I can confide in. Most people I would rather crawl into a whole and die than let them know so much about me. Okay, that was a bit dramatic, perhaps, but point taken, right?

I am glad to be back but oh, tomorrow I have to go back to work and I'm NOT pumped about it at all! Why must all good things come to an end? Why can't I just do fun stuff for the rest of my life??? Who invented work anyway?????? Oh, shoot, I guess God did so I had better not say anything! Actually, I believe man brought it upon himself by sin. I think that in the Garden of Eden, before there was sin, there was no work to do, only things that brought pleasure. I mean, even if Adam would have had to till the ground (without weeds of course) I believe it would have not been work to him, only fun. But now in this cursed earth we have to work for a living. Sigh! I always get sad when I have to go back to work after being on vacation for so long. After tomorrow I'll be fine again, it's just the first day being back that is hard on me. Oh, well, hopefully it passes by quickly. I got so much done today but I sure could use tomorrow off.......but I need the money even more......GRRR!

Well, I guess that's all for now since it's almost 10pm and my eyes are very sleepy.....Goodnight all y'all! Yep, the Okies have me trained now to talk like them!

Not Much Longer....

I cannot believe it is only a week until I fly to my beloved Israel. I believe it's the last time I'll travel there. 1: because I believe and anticipate that the Lord will rapture His church before too many more years. 2: because I don't think I will have money for another trip there anytime soon. 3: if I did have money for another trip I'd go see something I have never seen before! Oooh, I can hardly wait. The first time there is awesome. But I know I will be able to get even more out of it this second time.

Why do I pray for things that then get all surprised when God answers my prayers. You know, I can get awed at the smallest details. I should never be surprised when God answers my prayers, only grateful. This morning I knew I must get up at a certain time and it was very important to me not to mess up. I was nervous that I would oversleep because: 1. I had to get up earlier than normal. 2. With the time change it would be even earlier yet as we lost an hour. 3. I was afraid my phone/alarm clock would not change over even though I knew they should. I asked God to wake me up when it was time even if my alarm was wrong. Usually when I have something important that I have to be up a certain time, I usually wake up every little bit the entire night. Well, last night I slept solid and God woke me up about 7 minutes early! I know it's just a little thing but I just love how God cares about the details and that He answered such a "little" prayer for me. When He does that, I feel like I've just been hugged by Father God. Oh, by the way, my alarm and phone did pick up air time and change over by themselves. So God would not have had to wake me up, but it meant alot to me that He did anyway. Oh, and my clock did not change over the last time we had a time change. It must be getting a better signal in this new house! Or maybe God changed that for me too, I wouldn't put it past Him!

It is way past my bedtime. Goodnight everyone, God bless us every one!

Reunited!

Wow, this week has been an incredible spiritual journey for me! Sometimes weeks can go by and they are so mundane and so.....blah! But this week was incredible, at least the things that happened in my heart anyway! Ummmmm, this is a little difficult to admit, but since it's only a select few of my closest friends that will read this, I guess I'll be transparent. I was dealing with some sin in my heart for quite some time. I made excuses to God and to myself as to why it should not be considered as sin. If I saw it in someone else's life, I would have called it sin. But, you see, it's different when it's your own life! I did not hide it from God. I knew I couldn't. So I talked freely about it to Him. But, you see, I did all the talking. I was not interested in hearing what He had to say about it for fear He might convict me and I was not open to that. It truly bothers me how people can hide in their nice Mennonite clothing and look so righteous and holy and act so right that on one, not even their deepest friends can see any struggle going on. It's not right how we can hide so well, keep a facade so NO ONE knows. All the while I had it always present in my mind that eventually God sometimes gives people over to a debased mind and lets them believe their own lies since they refuse to believe the truth. I was not deceived, I knew all along that what I was messing with was shady and I was not one bit deceived. But I did fear a bit that it might come to the point of being blinded and that scared me a little. You know, sin really does put walls between Father God and His children; especially when you sin knowingly. I knew that, but all the while I tried to convince myself that my lacking relationship with the Father was a result of.....well........maybe business, etc. Certainly not this sin!

Finally I came to the point where I knew something had to change. Who likes to always hide things? Not me! Who likes to live in fear that someone will discover the truth you are trying so desparately to hide? Not me! Who likes to live in constant fear that just perhaps if I die, God will hold me accountable to that sin even though I'm trying to convince myself it's not sin? NOT ME!!!!!!! God really spoke to my heart a few weeks back and I chose to obey Him and relinquish my sin. However, it was not til last week that I totally gave up the last thread. It was so much a part of me that I could not just abandon it all in the snap of a finger. It went little by little and now it is 100% gone!

Bliss, unspeakable and full of glory! Ah, the feeling of having absolutely NOTHING to hide! NOTHING AT ALL! Living again with ZERO fear! I'd forgotten what that was like! I feel like Christian in Pilgrim's Progress, my burden went rolling to the foot of the cross and I feel as light as a feather. I cannot say much more, or it will disclose too much info on the whole situation, but rest assured that it is making a huge difference in my life. I'm actually grateful I went through it, because now I will be alot more forgiving and patient with others who struggle with sin.

Ah, and now about the reuniting part.......I'm a daughter of the King once again. I was all along. But now I feel like I am, not just know that I am! My sin had separated me from God to the point that He was just God to me, and that was all. Now He is once again my Beloved, the Lover of my soul and my Abba (Daddy). Once again I am going to sleep, knowing that I am safe in His arms. He wooed me back and now I look at Him as my Groom, the one whom I want to be beautiful to. I really like the Abba part. Now, once again when I go to bed, as I fall asleep, I can picture in my mind...I am sitting on Abba Father's lap, with my head against His chest and his arms around me tight and my arms around Him and his chin down against my head and I sleep the entire night as I rest on Him. Okay, some of you might think this is silly and sacrilegious but to me it is more than beautiful. I feel like a princess again.

I believe in meaning the words that I sing in a song. I am not comfortable singing a song that I cannot mean from the heart. Now I can sing "It is well with my soul" again and mean it from the heart. Ah, it's so very good to be free!

Fellowship with the Saints

Today was truly a day of fellowshipping with the saints. How I LOVE Sundays. I love the refreshment that it brings. God is awesome, He knew what he was doing when He gave us a day of rest. We had a wonderful sermon this morning. It was on the return of Christ. I wonder where he stands on the whole Rapture/Tribulation thing. I wish our Mennonite preachers would preach on it. But there are so many varying opinions out there and I know they are afraid of causing conflicts so they seem to just totally avoid talk of it. But it is in the Bible and God put it there because obviously He wanted us to study it. I wish they would at least present the different ideas and then let us figure out what we want to believe. But, that's just my opinion. Thank God for folks who are firm on what they believe and can teach others. I am obliged to the one who taught me, a pastor from Calvary Chapel. I am not ashamed or afraid to talk about it to those who want to know and are not out for the arguement. I do have some friends who are strict believers on the church going through tribulation and they always argue with me so I learned to be silent and let it ride. God never meant for us to argue about it. It is not a salvation issue so it's okay to disagree on it. Anyway, that was a long bunny trail! We heard about the Lord's imminent return from 2Peter and it made me think of the song, "If Jesus Came to your house, what would you do?" I love that song. I love how my whole life is permeated with music. I wonder how many songs I think about in a day's time! It seems like so many things or circumstances or stuff people say remind me of a song. If you never heard the song, you really need to hear that one!

So, that fellowship was great, but only the begining. I had a lunch invitation and I went to Rhonda and Steve and stayed til 3pm. We had some good talks and we sang a little. She had all the Sunday china laid out and even cloth napkins. It was beautiful. They are such an inspiring couple, I love em to death!

Then, I came home and rested for an hour and put my food in the oven and it was a mad house for the next 2 hours. I got all my food made in time though. Then, some more of my favorite people came for dinner. Todd and Merci and their boys came and we had a very lovely time. It was short but sweet. We had a good time talking and then we had a good worship time. Todd played the piano and Merci the guitar and I sang, as that is the only instrument that I can operate very well!!!!!! The boys are such gentlemen. I don't think I behaved that good when I was their age. I hated going to other people's houses who didn't have kids my age to play with. I would whine and snivel and complain up a storm. But these boys were just so grown-up and made the best of it. I hope if I ever have children that I can instill such manners in them too. You know, I really have grown to dislike how time literally flies when I don't want it to. It is a huge pet peeve of mine. How dare it do that to me??? How I would replay this delicious day over and over if I could. And, in a few weeks I will be going to Israel, and I know time will fly when I'm there as well. Sigh, I guess I'll have to pick that bone with God! I guess I had better hike my lazy self off to bed because Monday will be here before I.......oh, shoot, it's here already? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Valentine's Day

Well, well, well, am I not a bad girl?! I cannot believe it's been this long since I posted last. Where did all that time go? Will someone kindly recapture it for me? Oh, well, such is life!

I hope everyone else had as good of a day as I did yesterday! I had the best Valentine's Day I've had in years. This year the youth group didn't even do anything special like we usually do. And, here Valentine's Day fell on a weekend and we still didn't do anything as a group! I think the whole problem was that everyone is too stinking lazy to plan something. Oh, well, that's how it goes. I had more fun than when we did plan something. I had to work. But because it's President's Day weekend, we were busy like bees at the store! Sometimes it was almost like the good old days when I almost had to pull a ticket just to skip out and use the toilet!!!! The boss was there almost all day, and that did not even dampen my good day. He was in an extraordinary good mood and almost everything was peaches and cream. I say almost everything because he gets frustrated when things aren't priced and there was a discrepancy on a price, the sign for a Nativity piece said a different price than what the box was marked. The price had gone up for the new year but the sign had not been reprinted. She was buying two pieces and the one had to come from the display. I told her the one that is out and marked with the lower price, I can give it for that price but the second one from out of storage woudl have to be sold at the new price. She grumbled a little but finally shut up and went on her merry way. It was merry for me when she left, hopefully merry for her as well!

Then a good friend stopped in to pick up a desk she'd ordered. I knew she was coming but I did not know she would bring me a Valentine's Day gift. I was so surprised! She gave me a beautiful rose in a vase filled with hershey kisses and a very soft cute huggeable bear with his arms around the vase and he was also holding a heart that says "Love". She gave some other candy and a beautiful card. That really made my day.

Then when I got home and was getting ready to have friends over, the doorbell went. No one comes to this house without warning, because we have no peepie hole in our door. We don't know who comes til we have the door opened and it's too late! Plus we don't encourage drop in's because we are in comfy clothes when we are home and do not want to offend anyone. So it was with trepidition that I went to the door. Away with the trepidition at once! It was my close friend Rhonda with a beautiful single stem rose for me and some Valentine's cake and a beautiful card! Ooooh, I'm beginning to think I might be loved!!!!!! I have never gotten stuff like this before! Wow, God bless these thoughtful friends of mine!

So that was great, and then 3 of my friends came for the evening. We started off with Papa John's pizza. Any day with Papa John's pizza is a good day!!! We had soda and chocolate brownies and candy and chips and salsa. Everyone knows you don't count calories on Valentine's Day! Nor do you think about clogged arteries or anything else for that matter! You just eat and be careful not to overeat and pray that God will guard your heart from heart failure and forgive you for eating junk food! Yummy! We watched two movies: Snowball Express and I am Sam. The latter was especially touching. It was about a mentally challenged man who had a babygirl and raised her til she was six. Then the authorities tried to take her away because his mental capacity was that of a 7 year old. He went through some heart rending things and court appts. til he finally got her back. I had to grab the tissues. My friends left around 12:30 and then it was off to bed for me. After, that is, I checked my email!

How did the computer become the boss in this house???? I mean, since there is no man here, I thought I wear the pants!!!!!!! Hmmmm! Seems to me like the computer has picked up a pair of pants, and they're not from Goodwill either!!!!!!! Sigh! The dumb thing has a hold on me. I mean sometimes I am kicking and screaming and trying to get out the door and it just pulls me back and makes me open it up and waste my time away. Like right now I was supposed to be getting ready for the youth supper (a half hour ago!)and here I am at the silly computer instead! Oh, my goodness, speaking of time......aaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh! There's not much left before we leave and I'm still in my nightie!!!!! HELP!!!! Adios!!!!!
